This year was the 33rd time the festival was celebrated, and like the past 3 years I attended I had fun as well.
I saw 3 movies which I liked, I was going to watch a 4th one which I forgot when it was playing so I missed it (eventhough I had a ticket), and I terribly regret having done so as it won the FAVORITE CHILDREN'S FEATURE.
The 2 of the movies I saw also won and award, actually both won the same award :). I definitely agree with the choice as both were really good movies. And up next You can see the trailers in case you are interested in watching them as I definitely recommended, even the one I didn't see, as I'm hoping to see it soon.
FAVORITE US FEATURE
"A mountain climber becomes trapped under a boulder while canyoneering alone near Moab, Utah and resorts to desperate measures in order to survive" IMDB . Based on a true story starring James Franco and directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire). I got to meet the Director after the movie since there was a Q&A and it was really interesting to hear about what went behind the scenes.
Funny Fact
He described James Franco as someone who may look sleepy, distracted and in his own little word sometimes (specially the first meeting they had xD) what once he starts working he always gives 100% . I mentioned this because I couldn't stop thinking about Ohno lol.
FAVORITE CHILDREN'S FEATURE
Die Vorstadtkrokodile
Based on a popular novel by Max von der Grun, this is a delightful family film about a group of 10/11 year-olds in Dortmund who learn a great deal about themselves and their community when they discover something criminal happening in their midst. A young boy in a wheelchair is ignored by his peers, until the group learns that being different, or disabled, does not disqualify you from being part of a group or appreciating the abilities that you do have. I really, really wanted to see this film I was even prepared to go by myself, but I completely messed up the dates and ended up missing it :(
Honorable Mention .....by ME
I just love the photography, soundtrack and characters in this movie. All three kid actors were just wonderful in this movie, and the scenery really makes me want to go to Ireland someday <33
Written by William Collins, the film is the story of three young brothers' epic quest to replace their dying father's beloved watch over the Hallowe'en weekend of 1987. It is an off-beat and moving journey that can only lead them home. It stars newcomers Timmy Creed, Paul Courtney and TJ Griffin as well as a supporting cast including Kate Ashfield, Don Wycherley, Sarah Green and Eamonn Hunt.Source
I definitely recommend this 3 film if you have a chance to watch them :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!
